Female full time live-in carer/housekeeper required for an elderly couple living in Hamilton, Bermuda. Spouse can also be accommodated if required.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the full care of an elderly couple, and for the complete running of the elderly couple’s primary residence.
Duties will include, but are not limited to - Full personal care for the lady and gentleman - Laundry - Ironing, - Shopping, - Quality meal preparation, - Serving of meals, - Administration of medications, - All aspects of cleaning - Night Duty as and when required - Overseeing general maintenance and cleaning if needed.
An important element of the role will also be to offer social support to the couple.
The job entails working as needed round the clock 5 ½ days a week, with half a day on Saturday and all day Sunday off. There will be allocated breaks each day during the working week each day. The successful candidate will have their own living quarters in the residence including a private bathroom and use of the swimming pool in the residence.

Requirements:

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the needs of people with dementia and mobility problems.
The successful candidate will be either:-
An experienced Care Worker with at least 4 year’s experience and a minimum qualification of NVQ2 in Health and Social Care and current Moving and Handling, Food Hygiene and First Aid Certificates.
A qualified nurse (RGN or RMN) with post-qualification experience who understands that there are substantial non care tasks required of the job as listed above.
The successful candidate will also be required to care for the couple’s animals and work in a non-smoking environment. A clean driving license is essential. This post would be particularly suitable for individuals in the later stages of their career.
The successful candidate will receive a free flight from London to Bermuda, and a return flight back to the UK at the end of contract. The employer will make full arrangements for the provision of a Bermudan Work Permit
